Trenchless Construction Methods
Trenchless technology is a type of subsurface construction work that requires few trenches or no continuous trenches. It is a rapidly growing sector in construction and civil engineering industry. Trenchless construction methods can be implemented for new construction as well as for renewal purpose. Each purpose requires specific trenchless construction techniques. The classification flow chart of trenchless construction methods are shown in below figure.

From the above figure, trenchless construction methods are classified as:
- Horizontal earth boring
- Pipe jacking
- Utility Tunneling
The classification is based on the requirement of workers. From the above chart, the horizontal earth boring (HEB) do not require workers to proceed the work inside the borehole drilled. While the pipe jacking methods (PJ) and the Utility tunnelling (UT) method involves workers inside the borehole.

The pipe jacking differs from utility tunneling in terms of the support structure they employ. Pipe jacking uses prefabricated structures as support and the UT method employs the equipment used for excavation itself as the support structure which is temporary.

Application of HDD Mud Recycling System
HDD mud recycling system is designed according to the requirements of trenchless technology. It’s applied to handle the returned mud from underground in Horizontal Directional Drilling. It can separate big particles by shale shaker and mud cleaner, then stirs the mud evenly by mud agitator. Finally we can recycle the mud by using centrifugal pump connected to horizontal directional drilling system.

Our 1000GPM HDD mud recycling system includes 2 sets shale shaker, 1 set mud cleaner, 3 sets centrifugal pump, 1 pc hopper, 1 set mud agitator, 1 set mud tank, 1 set guardrail walkway, 2 pcs explosion-proof lamp and 1 set electrical control. TR HDD mud recycling system can improve efficiency of the mud, reduce HDD slurry cost, and enhance drilling speed.
